Best Goat Milk Lotion

Updated: 3 days ago

The G.O.A.T.

Hydrating, soothing, nourishing, non-greasy, quick absorbing, and good for your skin. I use it on my face! My complexion was not super pleased for a minute there, so I cut out all of the miracle hype products and streamlined it down to Bend Soap Co.'s Goat Milk Bar Soap and Goat Milk Lotion. I didn't need the expensive serums and moisturizers. What I needed was a simple, pure routine that wasn't inundated with chemicals. My skin feels dewy, fresh, unbothered, and satisfied. With its nourishing creamy texture, Bend Soap Co.'s Lotion will do the rest of your body good too, a magic potion for a germ-haters over-washed, dry cracked hands... I confess. My mom and Godson boarded the super-fan train for Bend Soap Co. once they tried the Goat Milk Soap and Goat Milk Lotion. For her mature skin and his teenage skin, it has made such a difference.

Almond Delight

Takes the cake (or cookie) as my favorite scent. It's soft, gently sweet, and reminiscent of Old-World cookies found on a Pittsburgh Wedding Cookie Table. If you don't know... worth a look up. My Pittsburgh family, like Almond Delight, yinz will always be my favorite, n'at!

Texture

Somebody, call Goldie Locks. Bend Soap Co. Goat Milk Lotion is not too runny and not too thick. Quite simply, it's just right. Some of my bottles have been a little more viscous than others, but that didn't change how they felt, absorbed, or soothed. This creamy little lotion packed with hydration feels wonderful to the touch. It whispers away into your skin leaving no greasy feel behind.

Scent Profiles

Island Coconut is a subtle, pleasant scent that is just as hydrating and fast absorbing as Almond Delight. It gives the essence of summer without crossing over into tanning lotion vibes. It's light but has a soothing warmth to it. My face did really well with Island Coconut throughout the summer.

I'm not much of a Lavender girl, but I test things out for the sake of offering candid feedback. For my lavender lovers, I believe you will be pleased with the authentic lavender scent. I found the Lavender to be a little less rich and hydrating compared to the other scents. No evidence-based stats here, maybe just my bias favoring other scents.

Sweet Orange, a subtle scent like Island Coconut, is a bright addition to the rotation to shake things up and keep it fresh. It's light and bright if you need a break from warmer vanilla-like scents.

A little twist (like the calling card of a candy cane) ... Bend Soap Co. releases their Peppermint scent in the winter. Creamy, slightly sweet, and not medicinal in any way, this limited-edition scent is as cozy and cheery as celebrating the Holidays with your loved ones.

Top two scent picks for me are Almond Delight and Peppermint. All of the fragrances in Bend Soap Co.'s Goat Milk Lotion are free of toxins, making it refreshingly breezy for you to find your bestie.

Packaging

Bend Soap Co. Goat Milk Lotion comes in a squeezable plastic bottle with a snap cap. It dispenses nicely and the cap snaps closed without a mess. They have a lotion pump for about a dollar if you'd prefer a pump on your bottle (currently $1.05). The only downside of this phenomenal lotion is that comes in plastic packaging with the optional lotion pump also being plastic.

Last Drop

As with most lotions in bottles, whether you use the snap cap or pump, it's tricky getting to the last drop. I stick with the snap cap, so this little trick keeps me from wasting any product. Once it becomes difficult to get a full dollop from a healthy squeeze, I turn the bottle completely on its head then tilt it to about a 45-degree diagonal (lid snapped shut of course). I rest the bottle against or between other items in my cabinet so that it stays steady. The lotion will accumulate in the upper shoulder of the bottle so it's easier to get more squeezes out. Be careful not to stand the bottle straight up and down. The weight of the accumulated lotion and the pressure at the snap cap will have your lotion shooting out immediately upon snapping the cap open. Once there's no more lotion coming out via this method, you can untwist the cap and run your finger around the inside of the bottle to get the literal last drops since the lotion is at the top of the bottle.

If you prefer using a pump, you could keep your snap cap and swap tops at the end of your bottle to partake in this frugal madness. If your lotion is a little thicker, as my newly opened Peppermint is compared to the Almond Delight that I just finished, you may need to add a teeny drop of warm water and vigorously swirl it around before tipping your bottle.

Closing Thought

All in all, I am enamored with the simplicity, affordability, efficacy, and enjoyability of the entire Bend Soap Co. line. If you've felt the frustration of troubled skin, I feel you. It was a long time coming and involved a symphony of non-toxic choices, but I'm thankful for Bend for the part they play in my shine.
